Floral Haven
A childhood ambition turned into the Southside's most design-led flower shop.

Floral Haven opened on Kildrostan Street in June 2000, founded by Shaheen Khan to fulfil a childhood ambition, and it has spent twenty-six years becoming the Southside's answer to the design-led West End shops. It describes itself as an independent, design-led flower shop specialising in creative hand-tied bouquets and designer plants, and unusually for that kind of self-description, the work supports it.
The distinguishing feature is sourcing: a bountiful daily selection plus genuinely exotic varieties that most neighbourhood shops never stock. That combination of a design eye and access to unusual stems is what produces the 'stand out pieces incorporating flora, fauna and other inspiring elements of nature' the shop is known for. Bloom boxes and table arrangements sit alongside the hand-ties, and the wedding and events side has been running across central Scotland for over a decade. Open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm, closed Sundays. That 6pm close is later than almost every other shop on this list and quietly very useful.
Best for
A bouquet meant to be remarked upon; unusual and exotic stems; Southside weddings.
What I would order
Ask for something built around whatever exotic stem came in that week. This is the shop where that question gets an interesting answer.
Worth knowing
Prices sit above the Southside average. Closed Sundays.
Opened in June 2000 to fulfil an ambition its owner had held since childhood, and it has been quietly outclassing bigger shops ever since.
Who it is not for
Anyone shopping purely on price, or wanting a Sunday. This is the Southside's premium option and makes no apology for it.
How it compares
For similar quality with a stronger wedding-logistics operation, Stalks & Stems is a mile north-west.
Getting there
Kildrostan Street, off Nithsdale Road in Pollokshields. Maxwell Park and Pollokshields East stations are both close; residential parking is manageable.
