Petals
Broomhill Cross's flower shop. Small catchment, loyal following.

Broomhill Cross has the density of a small town centre dropped into the West End, and Petals is its florist. The business model is entirely local: walk-in trade from the surrounding tenements and terraces, standing orders, and the steady rhythm of local occasions. There is no ambition here to be a destination, and that is not a criticism. A florist that serves half a square mile properly is doing something a citywide delivery brand cannot.
The range covers the expected ground: hand-tied bouquets, arrangements, plants, sympathy work. Style is pleasant and traditional. As with most shops in this bracket, the online presence is minimal and the real interface is the door and the phone.
Best for
Broomhill, Thornwood and Hyndland locals; a bunch on the way home.
What I would order
Ask what came in that morning and build from there.
Worth knowing
Minimal web presence; hours vary across directories.
One of those shops whose customers describe it possessively.
Who it is not for
Large weddings, corporate contracts, and anyone outside walking distance. The appeal here is genuinely local.
How it compares
For a bigger range within the same postcode, Blooms on Dumbarton Road handles the volume work.
Getting there
Broomhill Cross on Crow Road, well served by buses; Hyndland rail station is a walk away.
